• The vehicle warning lights have illuminated because of an underlying reason. There is always a reason for the fault. Sometimes the fault condition has occurred because of a simple transient and temporary sensor problem. In these cases, when the fault is cleared, the fault may not return because nothing with the system is actually broken. While unfortunately sometimes the faults can be triggered because something is actually physically broken with the system. In these cases, the physical problem must be repaired to prevent the fault code from returning. In both cases, the EAS Unlock V4 Tool will help you diagnose the problem and determine if expensive repairs are needed or if just a reset of the system is needed. The reading and clearing of vehicle fault codes is not always the final repair step but is a required step on the path to repairing your vehicle.

• The Classic EAS serial cable allows users to use any RS232 protocol laptop or PDA to communicate with the Classic Range Rover EAS. This cable is utilized by the EASunlock Software Suite.

• The Classic Range Rover EAS uses an identical EAS communications protocol to that of the P38 Range Rover. The same EASunlock software will work with the Classic Range Rover. The primary difference is the cable connector and the addition of some signaling transistors.

• The cable and software are designed to operate with a RS232 Serial interface. If you do not have a RS232 Serial port, you can purchase and adapter that will emulate a Serial port. These adapters typically cost anywhere from 10-15 USD. If you need one, just google "USB to Serial Adapter".

• I currently am no longer manufacturing this cable. The reason is because of the time required to manufacturer this cable is simply too great and the Classic EAS connector is special order from the UK. Please remember, I am just one person with a real full time day job. I will however provide help in manufacturing this cable. Below is the detailed schematic. • The ABS Amigo is a small portable handheld device that enables the user to reset the Discovery II Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) computer. The ABS amigo is designed for resolving the commonly occuring "Three Amigos" dash board lights. The device is powered solely by the cars own OBDII interface port and requires no further user interaction. Once the device is plugged into the OBDII port, communication is established with the ABS and the reset commands are sent out automatically.

• In addition to reseting the ABS fault, the ABS Amigo will also read the stored ABS fault codes. After the user has finished resetting the computer, the ABS diagnostic trouble shooting codes are stored internally on the ABS Amigo. The ABS fault codes can be retrieved by simply plugging the ABS Amigo into a Windows PC USB port. Once the ABS Amigo is plugged into a Windows PC USB port, the retrieved ABS Fault codes can be read in plain english and can be used to further troubleshoot the Discovery II ABS.

• The ABS Amigo is extremely easy to use and requires little or no computer or mechanical experience on the part of the user. The device can be kept with the vehicle as a emergency roadside repair tool. Anyone of any age or any level of technological aptness can operate this device. Simply plug the unit in, let the unit clear the ABS fault and unplug when done. It could not be simpler.

• The EAS Serial cable is very difficult to find. Your best options for finding a purpose built EAS Serial cable are to search Ebay. Please be aware that I am not affiliated with any Ebay sellers. I recommend the EAS Buddy Box to most people as it is far easier to use and works when needed.

• The EAS serial cable allows users to use any RS232 protocol laptop or PDA to communicate with the Range Rover EAS. This cable is utilized by the EASunlock Software Suite or the other PDA software packages. The cable is fully tested and guaranteed to be without any faults.

• The EAS Buddy will be End Of Life on January 1st 2014. The frequency of orders for this device has dropped significantly over the last year. It is no longer reasonable to continue manufacturing and stocking this device. A substitute device will be made available.
