After you are certain of the Comm port number, you are ready to Initialize. When you press the Initialize button, a series of values will be sent to the EAS. The EAS will then be power-cycled. After the unit is power-cycled, full communication will begin. When synchronized, the EAS will respond with a stream of "FF". You should see the Tx buffer sending out "FF" and "01". The Rx buffer will contain the "FF" responses. You want to see the "FF" response all by itself in the Rx buffer. When you are receiving just a stream of "FF" responses, you are ready to send and receive commands to and from the EAS.
